Our vineyard sits high up on the ridge overlooking Hood Canal
and the beautiful Olympic Mountains in Belfair, Washington.

We produce the only estate wine in our area,
making it unique to those who want to savor a truly local wine.

Sunlit Canyon Cellars is a small family run vineyard and winery,
dedicated to growing and producing wine of the highest caliber and distinction.

We bottle a very limited number of cases annually,
allowing us to focus on producing the best wines in a very balanced style.

THE VINEYARD

The Sunlit Canyon Cellars winemaker has worked and trained with renowned winemakers,
applying over one hundred years of experience in the industry.

We strive to produce world class wine in a relatively untapped region of Washington State.

Specific areas of the Central Puget Sound growing region are similar to that of Burgundy, France,
where some of the most premiere wines of the world are grown.

Many wineries attempt to place their wines in the hand made sector, but most don't. That is not the case with Sunlit Canyon Cellars, from establishment of the grape clone, working the vineyard, to fermentation and barrel selection, these wines are carefully crafted and cared for.

The result is every wine is a hands on individual effort; these wines are clearly head and shoulders above other Northwest Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris wines. Sunlit Canyon has established a completely new viticulture area, overlooking Hood Canal, an area that someday will be its own AVA. Pioneers and a hands on approach make these wines quality based, while expanding the breadth of wine characteristics.

The wines are strongly varietal, brilliant in color and crafted with the best wine making possible.

Cameo Boutique and Wine Shop is so pleased to be one of the first wine shops to sell Sunlit Canyon Cellars Pinot Gris.

This premium white wine has become a favorite in our community,
being one of the only estate wines in Mason County.
It complements our bounty of fresh seafood.

We look forward to other varietals from Sunlit Canyon.

OUR WINES

Our cool climate grapes, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, were first planted in 2007.
They are meticulously cared for, and are picked by hand when
the pH and Brix levels reach what we are searching for.

Pinot Noir B1

This wine is 100% Precose clone, aged on a Seguin Moreau barrel for 14 months. It is a great full-bodied Pinot, which will take a few years of aging to reach its full potential.

Pinot Noir B2

This wine is a combination of Precose, 115 and 667 clones. 50% of the wine was aged on a Marsannay barrel for 14 months, and 50% on a neutral barrel, followed by blending for optimal results. This is a somewhat lighter wine with lots of nice fruit coming through.

Pinot Noir B5

This wine is a blend of 4 different Pinot Noir Clones, using 2 different yeast strains. 50% of the wine was aged on a new Seguin Moreau barrel and 50% on a 3-year-old Marsannay barrel. It could be the star of this vintage, but will take some time in the cellar.

Pinot Noir B6

This is a new Clone, #777. 50% of it was aged on a new Seguin Moreau barrel and 50% in two different neutral Marsannay barrels. This is a wine that needs a few years to mature, but the end result should be spectacular.

This wine is a blend of 3 clones. 100% aged on new and neutral Marsannay barrels. It is a little softer wine with lots of floral notes, which is just starting to drink well.
